Broadcasts
A broadcast sends the same message to many contacts at once: a festival offer, a new batch announcement, a holiday closure notice. KiliChat sends it to each person individually (it's not a group), so replies come back to your inbox as normal one-to-one chats.
You'll find broadcasts under Automation → Broadcasts. Only admins can see and send broadcasts.
What can I send in a broadcast?
| Type | Who it reaches | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Approved template | Everyone in the audience who hasn't opted out or been blocked | Almost always. Offers, reminders, announcements. |
| Regular message | Only people who wrote to you in the last 24 hours | Quick updates to people you're already chatting with, like "We're open till 10 PM tonight". |
WhatsApp only allows normal messages within 24 hours of the customer's last message. Everyone else needs a template. See Message templates.
What's on the Broadcasts page?
At the top:
- Broadcasts: how many you've made.
- Sending now: broadcasts going out right now.
- Scheduled: broadcasts waiting for their time.
- Messages sent: the total across all broadcasts.
Below is a list of every broadcast with its Status, Audience size, how many were skipped, and a Delivery bar showing the percentage delivered and read, plus how many failed. Click Recipients to see each person's status.
The page refreshes by itself every few seconds while a broadcast is sending.
Who never gets a broadcast?
- Contacts who opted out (for example by replying STOP).
- Contacts your team blocked.
- For a regular message: anyone who hasn't written in the last 24 hours.
These people are counted as skipped, so the numbers always add up.
