Why didn't some contacts get it?
First, find out what happened to each person: go to Automation → Broadcasts and click Recipients on the broadcast. Each person shows a status and, for problems, a reason in red.
They're marked "Skipped"
KiliChat didn't send to them on purpose.
| Reason | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Opted out | They unsubscribed, by replying STOP or because your team opted them out. | Nothing. Respect their choice. They can reply START to subscribe again. |
| Blocked | Someone on your team blocked them. | Unblock them from the inbox if that was a mistake. |
| Outside the 24-hour window | You sent a Regular message, which only reaches people who wrote in the last 24 hours. | Send an Approved template instead. |
| Broadcast cancelled | Someone clicked Cancel before their turn. | Send a new broadcast to them. |
They're marked "Failed"
WhatsApp tried but couldn't deliver. Common reasons:
| Reason shown | Usual cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Message undeliverable (131026) | The number isn't on WhatsApp, is typed wrong, uses a very old WhatsApp version, or the person hasn't accepted WhatsApp's latest terms. | Check the number has the right country code (91… for India). If it's right, there's nothing more you can do. |
| …healthy ecosystem engagement (131049) | Meta limited how many marketing messages this person gets. | Wait a day or two. Not charged. |
| …stopped marketing messages (131050) | The person turned off marketing messages from you in WhatsApp. | Send only utility messages to them. |
| Messaging limit or rate limit errors (131048, 130429, 131056) | You hit Meta's daily or speed limit. | See Limits and pacing. Split big lists. |
| Template errors (132000, 132001, 132012, 132015) | Something about the template didn't match, or Meta paused it. | See Meta error codes. |
| …access token… (190) | The number's connection to Meta stopped working. Every message fails. | See Token expired. |
| Interrupted by a restart | The server restarted mid-send. | Retried once automatically if retries were on. |
| Contact no longer exists | The contact was deleted while the broadcast was sending. | Nothing to do. |
For every code, see Meta error codes.
They're marked "Sent" but never "Delivered"
WhatsApp accepted the message but the phone hasn't received it yet. Usually the phone is off, has no internet, or the person hasn't opened WhatsApp in a while. It often becomes Delivered later. If almost everyone is stuck at Sent, see Broadcast stuck.
They aren't in the Recipients list at all
They weren't part of the audience when the broadcast started. Check:
- Tags: do they have one of the tags you picked? With several tags picked, a contact needs at least one of them.
- Segment: do they match the segment's conditions? Segments are worked out at the moment the broadcast starts.
- Left out: did they have a tag (or segment) under Leave some people out?
- Different number: is the contact saved on this WhatsApp number in KiliChat? Contacts belong to one number. See Contacts.
The Recipients window shows only the latest 500 people. For big broadcasts, someone may simply be further down than the list shows.
They say they didn't see it, but it shows "Delivered" or "Read"
The message reached their phone. It may be buried under other chats, or in their archived chats. "Read" means they opened the chat.
Why did the count drop between creating and sending a scheduled broadcast?
The audience is worked out again at the scheduled time. People who opted out, were blocked, lost the tag or left the segment in the meantime aren't included.
