Buttons

Buttons appear under a template's message. Customers tap them to reply, open a link, call you or copy a coupon code. In the template editor, use the buttons under Buttons to add one: Quick reply, Website, Call or Copy code.

What kinds of buttons are there?

A template can have up to 10 buttons in total. Button labels can be up to 25 characters.

In what order do the buttons appear?

Meta requires quick replies to be grouped together, so KiliChat sorts buttons when you save: quick replies first, then website, then call, then copy code. On a limited-time offer the copy-code button always comes first, because Meta requires it.

How do I add a quick reply button?

  1. Click Quick reply.
  2. Type the Button text, like Yes, I'll come or Not now.

When a customer taps it, you receive their tap as a normal message with the button's text. It also opens the 24-hour window, so your team can reply freely.

Reply to button taps automatically

Make a flow whose keyword is exactly the button text (for example Book a slot). When someone taps that button, the flow starts. See Start a flow.

How do I add a website button?

  1. Click Website.
  2. Type the Button text, like Track parcel.
  3. Type the Link. It must start with https://.

Yes. Tick The end of the link changes for each person (like an order number). KiliChat adds {{1}} to the end of the link, so https://your-site.com/track/ becomes https://your-site.com/track/{{1}}.

Then fill in two more boxes:

  • Example link: a full real-looking link for Meta's review, like https://your-site.com/track/1042.
  • Value when sending: what goes in place of {{1}}. Usually a contact field, like {{attr.order_id}}, or {{phone}}.

Only the end of the link can change: "In a website link, {{1}} can only go at the very end."

You can change the value later with Sending values, and override it for one broadcast in the End of the "…" link box.

How do I add a call button?

  1. Click Call. The label starts as "Call us"; change it if you like.
  2. Type the phone number with country code, like +91 98765 43210.

If you see "Call buttons need a phone number with country code", check that the number starts with the country code and has 8 to 15 digits.

How do I add a copy-code button?

  1. Click Copy code.
  2. Type the code in Code, like FEST20. Use 1 to 15 letters and numbers only, no spaces or symbols.

The button always says "Copy code". You can't change its label; WhatsApp sets it.

The code you type is shown to Meta and is also the code sent, unless you change it. To send a different code:

  • For all future sends: Sending values → Coupon code.
  • For one broadcast: the Coupon code box in the new broadcast window.

How do I remove a button?

Click the ✕ at the end of the button's row.

Why is the Website button giving an error?

Yes, but carousel cards have their own button rules: one or two buttons per card, quick replies or website links only, and every card must have the same buttons in the same order. See Carousel templates.
